I heard about you through my sister Premajothi and she said you were playing by me at Union Grove in Arkville. Not seeing it on your calendar though?

Very much enjoyed Friday's performance at Quiche. However, it seemed to me sometime during the second set, the sound mix changed, and the vocalist was getting drowned out. Jonathan seemed to be overpowering a bit. Listening to "The First Time" felt a little like watching the home stretch of a horse race. Loved "Change." Always a pleasure hearing you guys!

Hi Loren--I'm a friend of Eileen and Ramon Gil and I've been to your gigs with Premajhothi and John DeLucca.
I heard a fabulous blues and gospel singer today who sang solo with the Garden State Choral Group. I think she would be a fabulous guest singer at one of your Friday night gigs at Cafe Quiche. We can talk (201-797-8378) or you can e-mail me. I was quite taken by this person's talent and asked for her phone number and e-mail address thinking you may be interested in having her as a guest singer

Enjoyed your show tonite at CQ! As always you 're the best! Have you ever considered playing at Trumpets in Montclair? Only other jazz club I know in Jersey. Recently saw Ty Stephens there! Your quartet I think would be a perfect fit for Trumpets! Just a thought..

Hello, Mr. Daniels,

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ileen Zovluck and I'm a professional classical guitarist - and I also live in Teaneck, NJ.

I'm writing to you today with regard to a private student of mine who also happens to be in your music class at Whittier.

Kenneth Castro has been studying with me for about a year. A little less than 2 weeks ago, Kenneth informed me that he'd been selected to perform Pharrell William's "Happy" for a school function. He told me that this was "several months" down the road.

A few days later, he told me the song was being done in June.

This is several years beyond Kenneth's technical ability. At this point, I've just gotten him into playing what amounts to two-part inventions and maybe a dozen chords. In reality, he's still a beginner and the rhythms and harmonies required would probably sit better for a guitar quartet and probably not a grade-school age ensemble at that.

I told Kenneth he'd need to decline this project and that I'd talk to you on his behalf. Hopefully, you'll have sufficient lead time to either get another musician, or even chose another song.

Kenneth is eager to play in public, but if you're open to different songs - he's currently working on a solo arrangement of "Wrecking Ball." (An idea for the suggestion box.

I'm right here in town, teaching 5 days a week, having moved here from Manhattan 2 years ago. Looking forward to your reply.

"Yonder come day, day is a breaking . Yonder come day, oh my soul. Yonder come day, day is a breaking, sun is a rising , in my soul. Singing trees are green and the air is sweet, the good earth is singing underneath my feet. I point my feet down the freedom line, walking that road I'm feeling fine. Singing yonder come day..."
I Still remember your orginal song from about 25 years ago. You were a great teacher! Some of my fondest elementary school memories are of the songs and fun from your class. Glad to see you are still making a difference.

Hi Loren,

I enjoyed hearing you and Reggie perform at Classic Quiche this past summer. I enjoyed the CD as well. There is a need for a kid's choir singing "Free at Last" as part of a concert at Teaneck Creek Conservancy on October 24th at 1 p.m. inside the Five Pipes mural.
Do you think the kids at Whittier would be up for that?
My phone is (201) 321-1599.

All the best,
Sarah Davol (oboe, Englewinds)
